Thanks to the support of USAID, Albania is one of six countries featured in The Western Balkans Geotourism Map guide  Land of Discovery, an interactive web portal hosted by the National Geographic and available on www.balkansgeotourism.travel.

The visitors may pass the tourist paths in the borders between the countries (not in border crossing points) by a special permission given by the Border Authorities in the respective countries (Albania, Montenegro and Kosovo). The application form can be on-line taken and after can be sending to the Border Crossing Authorities (Police Stations) that the visitors would like to pass.

This application can be made for groups only and this should be send 15 (fifteen) days before.

The presentation of Albania at the Mediterranean Exchange Archaeological Tourism, which took place from 18-21 November 2010 in Paestum-Salerno, Italy.

From 8 to 11 November 2010, was held in London the annual edition of the International Tourism Fair, World Travel Market - London 2010. In this event Albania was represented with a stand of 120 m².

The RDA Coach Tourism - Fair took place from 27 - 29 July 2010. In this exhibition, Albania was represented in a common stand with two other Balkan countries, such as Montenegro and Serbia under the common logo The Balkans Treasures. This is a business and business fair with its main focus on the tourist bus market, a sector which has recently seen great development in our country.

The National Geographic Traveler magazine published a 47-page supplement on the Western Balcans that has been distributed to over 200,000 households across Europe. The Western Balcans  Land of Discovery showcases the historical and cultural treasures of six Balkan countries. Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia

Usaid and National Geographic Magazine promote Albania and Balkan Neighbors

The National Tourism Agency in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in support of the initiative of the Albanian Embassy in Tokyo organized a tour for a group of Japanese tourist operators from 30 May - 1 June.

The National Tourism Agency participated to the "Conference on Tourism", which was held on 21 May 2010 in Forli, Italy.

On 21 May 2010, in "Mother Theresa"'s square was organized the opening ceremony of "Adriatic & Ionian Classic Rally", which coincided with the opening of the Summer Tourist Season 2010.

Pristina's annual fair took place at the Palace of Youth from the 1 to 3 of April. Albania was represented with a central stand of 80 metro meters square. Besides MTKRS (Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports) and AKT (National Tourism Agency) in the Albanian stand, there were also five other tourism agencies.

The Mitt Moscow Fair took place at the "Krasnya Presnia" Exhibition center from the 17 - 21 of March. The first three days of the fair were intended to "B to B" business meeting while the last day was open to the public. With an island shape stand of 42 meters square, Albania turned back to an institutional level. The last time Albania participated in this fair was in 1999.

International Fair I.T.B. Berlin took place from 10 to 14 of March at Messe Berlin. Albania was represented with a 117 square meters, positioned close to countries such as Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kosovo, Bulgaria etc.

The National Tourism Agency under the memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Slovenia published an article on Albania's tourism resources.

The National Tourism Agency in the framework of promoting tourism resources held a national promotional campaign throughout the territory of the Republic of Albania.

The National Tourism Agency took part in the 16th edition of the International Fair organized by the Click Expo Group at the Palace of the Congresses on the 25 to 30 of November 2009.

The National Tourism Agency attended the International Tourism Fair, WTM London, which took place from 9 to 12 November.
The Agency was represented with a stand of 120 m2, positioned close to the neighbor countries of Croatia, Bulgaria and Italy, attending the event along with other private entities and local governmental representatives.

In the conference referred the General Director of the National Tourism Agency Ms. Nada Kallçiu, The Albanian Ambassador in England Mr. Zef Mazi, the Deputy Mayor of the city of Durrës Mr. Zhulien Varfi and Mr. Ylli Cerova, Director of the Archeological Park of Butrint.

Today, on 12.10.2009 was signed The Memorandum of Understanding between the National Tourism Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The memorandum is an expression of will to promote one of the most important priorities of the country's development, such as the tourism

RDA-"Coach Tourism" Messe Cologne 4-6 August 2009
National Tourism Agency presented the Albanian tourism fair this year in RDA, which took place from 4 to 6 August in the premises of Messe Cologne, Federal Republic of Germany

National Tourism Agency has worked intensively during these first 6 months of 2009 for implementation and publication of the new promotional set. This set reflects Albanian tourism and its values. NTA has also prepared and published the Albanian tourist map and tourist itinerary.

Statistics for period January - June for foreign visitors who enter Albania speak for an increase of 10% compared to the same period last year.
Number of General visitors in Albania period January-June 2009 is about 951,495 people.

In the frame of the summer touristic season 2009, Municipality Durres organized for the first time The Tourism Fair in Albania. The aim of this activity was the presentation of nature and cultural recourses of this city and all the steps made by the municipality

National Tourism Agency participates in the International Tourism Fair WTM, in London from 10 to 13 November 2008. Albania has established a tradition of fair representations in some of the most important international tourism fairs. The annual program of the NTA work has been published in these fairs.
